 In an effort to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, many people are turning to Botox& Cosmetic. The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, simply called Botox Cosmetic, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Daxxify is the newest FDA-approved injectable treatment for fine lines and wrinkles. The active ingredient in Daxxify is the same botulinum toxin that is found in Botox, but it is the only product that uses a unique protein peptide as a stabilizer. Because of this, Daxxify has been shown to last as long as six months and, in some patients, even longer! Daxxify works by blocking a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which causes muscles to contract. When Daxxify is injected, it allows the facial muscles to relax, which causes fine lines and wrinkles to begin to fade away and ultimately results in smoother, younger-looking skin. Results with Daxxify have been seen as quickly as the day after treatment, but most patients start seeing results within two days.
